I'm an ICF Certified (ACC) Coach, trained and certified in applied positive psychology coaching by The Flourishing Center® and trained and certified in executive coaching by the Center for Executive Coaching.
As a positive psychology coach, I use the tools from the science of positive psychology to help individuals move forward with their personal and professional goals for a more fulfilling life. As an executive coach, I help leaders, executives, managers, and their organizations gain clarity, overcome obstacles, and achieve their specific goals.
Positive Psychology is a science, an empirical approach to understanding human flourishing and thriving. "Positive Psychology is the scientific study of optional human functioning. It aims to discover and promote the factors that allow individuals and communities to thrive. Coaching is one of the best applications of Positive Psychology." Dr. Martin Seligman, Founding Father of Positive Psychology.
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) describes coaching as a "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership."
I am deeply committed to helping my clients develop and accomplish their goals in order to live with greater happiness and well-being. The coaching I offer is a comprehensive and holistic approach to personal and professional growth that may involve multiple aspects of the client's life including: relationships, career, spirituality, values, finances, education, recreation, health, communication, transitions, decision-making and others.
Coaching works by combining inner work with outward action. Inner work involves identifying and updating the core beliefs and habits currently creating the client's life experiences. The outer work involves creating the goals, processes and systems that support the clients in meeting their goals. The coaching process includes brainstorming, examining core beliefs, clarifying values and goals, identifying action plans, changing habits & behaviors, and establishing accountability. Along the way, I offer clients researched based theories, measurement, and tools from the field of positive psychology to enhance their journey.
As a coach, I partner with my clients to bring out the very best in them. Together we explore what they want and uncover the natural and most powerful way of achieving it. We work together to expand their view of what is possible and arrive at key insights that drive their transformation. I provide a safe and supportive environment where clients feel respected and listened to. In the coaching relationship, the client is the expert in their own life, so they are responsible for creating their own decisions and results. My philosophy is that my clients have the capacity and the inner resources to approach their current life situation in a way that transforms their ability to have more of what they want and with considerably less effort. As coach, I respect my client's willingness to be truthful and I always keep all the information they provide strictly confidential.
Achieving the client's best life is a process and does not happen overnight. Depending on their specific goals, clients can schedule their coaching sessions weekly, every other week, once a month or as needed. Although there are no guarantees on the outcomes from coaching, most people report significant progress on their goals.
I am a certified professional coach not a licensed mental health professional. Coaching is not therapy and is not intended as a replacement for counseling, psychiatric interventions, treatment for mental illness, recovery from past abuse, professional medical advice, financial assistance, legal counsel, or other professional services.

Once we find that coaching is the right next step for you and we both determine we are a "good fit", the next step is to have you book a 90 minute Strategy Session. In this Strategy Session we will go deeper into your values, vision and specific goals for what you want in life and how coaching can help you get there. After the Strategy Session you can set up subsequent sessions of 60 minutes long either weekly, every two weeks, monthly or as needed. Most people find that 3-6 months of coaching helps them achieve their goals but some prefer to stay with coaching longer. You can decide along the way.
